Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted much in a while, but I guess I was too focused on my writing to say something around here.
Anyway, as many of you know, I'm currently writing a Zelda fanfiction in collab with
, and we're right on the final leg (only one chapter and a distant epilogue to go). Not to mention that we're both excited for the release of Breath of the Wild (even if I won't have the chance to play it soon). However, this happiness and excitement was slightly marred by a certain user. Or should I call him, an idiotic writer-wannabe with delusions of greatness, a double-faced hypocrite who hides behind a mask of false modesty, and a know-knothing-know-it-all who think that he's smart because he can use big words.This starts back in November, 2016, when the first review of this guy came up. He seemingly had nothing but praise for me, saying that he enjoyed the story, the battles and action sequences, even though he wasn't a fan of the romance; however, he ended the review with a note for my partner. He said the following, and I quote: "Tell Artemiss that the reign of exaggerated romance will come to an end soon, and she should find something else to do in the Zelda fandom". I was like "What the heck was that?" While I tried (the key word being TRIED) to reply as politely as I could, later that day I contacted Artemiss, and I was in for a nasty surprise: turns out that the day BEFORE leaving that review on our story, this same guy (we knew because of the similar nicknames) had contacted her on Wattpad, throwing heaps of praise on her (she's got the screencaps as proof), and even asking her for mentorship because he was a rookie writer. Artemiss was willing to help, even though the story had themes and a pairing she didn't support, but... I think it goes without saying that she wasn't very happy when she saw the review. Furthermore, I also think it was foolish of him to think that I'd buy his praises for me when he was blatantly insulting my writing partner. Did he think I wouldn't feel insulted myself?
But that was just the beginning of the story. The guy kept leaving reviews on our story (and also in some others), apparently trying to apologize to us with the tail between his legs, and coming up with the WORST excuses for that behavior (long story short, he said some crap about being dumped by his girlfriend, getting drunk with his friends, getting into a fight that ended with him a black eye, and some other irrelevant stuff). This could have worked, if it wasn't for three factors. One: his apologies came up in the next update, when the damage was done, rather than having at least the decency of answering quickly. Two: his tune had changed completely, even though he had blocked Artemiss in Wattpad when she called him out (that's right, it was HIM who blocked her, not the other way around). And three: he was shamelessly promoting himself, begging us to read his stories, and also that we join his community in Amino, talking to us as if we were friends and nothing had happened. He got a lot of nerve for that.
So well, we were more than ready to forget about this guy, but yesterday, I got a new review from him. I should have blocked him long ago, but I didn't think it was necessary because my latest reply should have made it clear that none of us wanted anything to do with him. Boy, whenever I think he cannot be more stupid, he proves me wrong. It even didn't have anything to do with the story itself, it's clear that now he changed his tactic because kissing up to us no longer works. The review said the following, and I quote: "Spoiler Alert: Zelda and Link are cousins in Breath of the Wild, anybody who's gonna play it, thank me because I just saved you the biggest trolling of your life, since one of my cousins works at Level Up and lent me the Nintendo Switch along with the game while he wrote a web review. Believe me, I'm really angry at Nintendo for this trolling to their fans." Yeah, suuuuuure.
So well, I wanted to keep this on a closed circle, but since he just won't let go, I guess now's the time to reveal his name. His pen name in Fanfiction.net is josmardata36. In Wattpad, he goes by josmarneyraarellan, and even had the sheer stupidity of leaving his full name in the open on several previous reviews: Josmar Joriano Neyra Arellan, according to his Facebook account. This is mostly aimed at writers in the Zelda fandom, in Spanish (he doesn't seem to have grasp at English, at least), and specially to ZeLinkers: Be wary of this guy. He might act buddy-buddy, but in actuality, he's nothing but an idiot who's secretly raging against ZeLink and romance in general, and will try to find something to criticise your stories while hiding behind false modesty words, and even has the nerve of mentioning other authors as references (I'm talking about Artemiss, since I found another review where he said she was "a good but not excellent writer, perhaps quite melodramatic"). If it's attention what she wants, I'll give it to him. Let's see how he handles the pressure of fame, or infamy, in this case.

Hola, amigos. Disculpen si no he posteado mucho últimamente, pero creo que estaba muy inmerso escribiendo mis historias para decir algo por aquí.
Como sea, como muchos de ustedes lo sabrán, actualmente escribo un fanfiction de Zelda en colaboración con
, y estamos ya en el último tramo (solo faltan un capítulo y un epílogo distante para terminar). Sin mencionar que los dos estamos emocionadísimos con el lanzamiento de Breath of the Wild (incluso aunque yo no podré tener la oportunidad de jugarlo pronto). Sin embargo, nuestra alegría y emoción se vio ligeramente empañada por culpa de un cierto usuario. O debería llamarlo más bien, un idiota remedo de escritor con desilusiones de grandeza, un hipócrita doble cara que se oculta tras una máscara de falsa modestia, y un sabelotodo que no sabe nada que se cree muy inteligente solo por usar palabras grandes.Esto comienza en Noviembre de 2016, cuando recibí el primer review de este sujeto. No escatimó nada en halagarme, diciendo que le encantó la historia, las batallas y secuencias de acción, a pesar de no ser un fan del romance; sin embargo, concluyó su review con una nota para mi compañera. Dijo lo siguiente, citando: "Dile a Artemiss que el reinado del romance exagerado pronto llegará a su fin, y que mejor se busque otra cosa que hacer en el fandom de Zelda". Me quedé como "¿Qué diablos fue eso?" Aunque traté (siendo la palabra clave que TRATÉ) de responderle tan educadamente como pude, más tarde ese día contacté a Artemiss, y me llevé una desagradable sorpresa: resultó ser que el día ANTES de dejar aquel review en nuestra historia, este mismo sujeto (supimos que era él por los nicks similares) la había contactado en Wattpad, echándole toneladas de halagos (tiene las capturas de pantalla como prueba), e incluso pidiéndole orientación por ser un escritor novato. Artemiss estaba dispuesta a ayudar, aunque su historia tenía temas y una pareja que ella no apoyaba, pero... creo que está de más decir que no estuvo nada feliz cuando vio el review. Más todavía, creo que fue realmente estúpido de su parte creer que me tragaría sus halagos cuando estaba insultando de esa forma a mi compañera. ¿En serio creyó que yo no me iba a ofender también?
Pero eso fue solo el inicio de la historia. Pero ese fue solo el inicio de la historia. El sujeto siguió dejándonos reviews en nuestra historia (y en algunas otras), aparentemente tratando de pedirnos perdón con el rabo entre las patas, viniendo con las PEORES excusas para ese comportamiento (resumiendo, dijo una basura acerca de que su novia lo dejó, de que se emborrachó con sus amigos, que se metió en una pelea donde terminó con un ojo morado y un montón de cosas irrelevantes más). Podría haberle funcionado, de no ser por tres factores: Uno: sus disculpas vinieron en la siguiente actualización, cuando el daño ya estaba hecho, en vez de tener al menos la decencia de respondernos de inmediato. Dos: cambió totalmente su tonada, a pesar de haber bloqueado a Artemiss en Wattpad cuando ella le llamó la atención (así es, fue ÉL quien la bloqueó, y no al revés). Y tres: sin pena alguna trataba de promocionarse, suplicándonos que leyéramos sus historias, y que nos uniéramos a su comunidad en Amino, hablándonos como si fuéramos amigos y como si nada hubiera pasado. Tiene mucho nervio para hacer algo así.
Y entonces, ya estábamos más que listos para olvidarnos de él, pero ayer, recibí un nuevo review suyo. Debí bloquearlo hace tiempo, pero no lo hice porque creí que mi última respuesta debería dejarle claro que no queríamos saber nada de él. Cielos, cuando creo que ya no puede ser mas estúpido, me demuestra que me equivoco. No tuvo nada que ver con la historia, claramente cambió su táctica porque ponerse de lamebotas con nosotros ya no le funciona. El review decía lo siguiente, y cito (corrigiendo sus faltas ortográficas): "Spoiler Alert: Zelda y Link son primos en Breath Of The Wild, Los que van a jugarlo, agradézcanme de que les he ahorrado la troleada de su vida, ya me pasé el juego entero, puesto que uno de mis primos trabaja en Level Up y me prestó el Nintendo Switch junto al juego mientras él escribía la reseña escrita para la web. Créanme, estoy muy enojado por esa troleada de Nintendo a sus fans." Sí, claaaaaaro.
Y bien, yo hubiera preferido mantener esto en un círculo cerrado, pero ya que él no lo deja ir, creo que es tiempo de revelar su nombre. Su nombre de usuario en Fanfiction.net es josmardata36. En Wattpad, tiene el nombre de josmarneyraarellan, y hasta tuvo la estupidez de dejar su nombre completo expuesto en varios reviews anteriores: Josmar Joriano Neyra Arellan, según su cuenta de Facebook. Este es un avisto mayormente para los escritores en español en el fandom de Zelda, y especialmente a los ZeLinkers: Manténganse lejos de este sujeto. Puede que finja ser amigable, pero en realidad no es más que un idiota que está ardido en contra del ZeLink y el romance en general, y buscará algo para criticarles sus historias ocultándose tras palabras de falsa modestia, e incluso con el nervio de mencionar a otros autores como referencias (estoy hablando de Artemiss, ya que encontré otro review suyo donde la describió como "una buena mas no excelente escritora, y tal vez muy melodramática"). Si es atención lo que quiere, se la voy a dar. Veamos cómo maneja la presión de la fama, o infamia, en este caso.
